Venues with a view are one of Hawaii's biggest selling points

Whether it’s of the sparkling blue Pacific or towering emerald-green mountains, the view is often one of the built-in pleasures of Hawaii’s event venues. Here are a few stunning examples.

  • Sunset Ranch, a private, 30-acre estate on the North Shore of Oahu, is known for both its dramatic ocean and mountain views, encompassing the entire northwest side of the island. Indoor spaces include a rustic barn and two hospitality suites, while outdoor spaces include lush tropical gardens and meadows accommodating groups of all sizes. Horseback riding is among the activity options.
  • Spread along the slopes of Maui’s Mt. Haleakula, Alii Kula Lavender Farm is a fragrant venue planted with exquisite lavender gardens on a hillside overlooking green pastures and a swath of coastline. Groups can tour the farm and learn about the 45 varieties of lavender, which thrive in the cool upcountry Maui climate, and then sample such delicacies as lavender tea and scones at catered events in one of the farm’s charming gazebos.
  • A gorgeous panorama of Hulopoe Bay and the island of Kahoolawe on the horizon is front and center at Kumulani Terrace, surrounded by lawn and bougainvillea at the Four Seasons Resort at Manele Bay on Lanai. It’s ideal for a reception of up to 100 people or for a banquet of up to 60.
  • Feasting on Wagyu beef tenderloin or fresh-caught mahi mahi while gazing out on Hanalei Bay—the Kauai beauty spot where South Pacific was filmed—is an unbeatable combination at Kauai Grill, located at the St. Regis Resort. The restaurant offers a private dining room for up to 12 guests and seats up to 120 if bought out.
  • Breathtaking views at the top end of the Big Island’s Kohala Coast await at the end of Hawaii Forest and Trail’s Waterfall Helihike and Picnic. The outfitter combines a morning hike followed by a helicopter ride over the rivers and valleys of the Kolahal Coast that lands at a secluded cliffside picnic spot overlooking the ocean.
