As social media takes over the world—and the travel industry —a Hyatt hotel chain is re-discovering the value of handwritten mail.
This summer, Hyatt Place hotels began a trial partnership with the Postagram smartphone app, which sends real postcards that users create digitally.
The program encourages guests to take advantage of two free postcards while staying at a participating property.
Hyatt’s complimentary trial period concluded in August, but the app still makes it relatively affordable to send custom postcards while on the road.
Postagram is linked with Facebook, and allows users to select their own photos to be printed on a card, along with a short message.
For $.99, postcards can be delivered anywhere within the U.S., or internationally for $1.99.
According to Hyatt, “we know what a simple postcard can mean for a lasting relationship.”
