The 'Moonshine Man' delights groups at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Georgia

“Old-fashioned” and “down home” are terms rarely used to describe Ritz-Carlton properties, but at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., they accurately describe the luxury property’s new moonshine tasting program, one of several ways the property is embracing its Southern roots.

A “Moonshine Man” can pay a visit to group events, bringing with him mountain-man humor and wild tales of wilderness brewing.

Moonshine samplers, served in mason jars, can be arranged, complete with moonshine-soaked cherries.

The BBQ Sauce Chef’s Challenge similarly harkens to a longtime Southern culinary tradition. Teams are paired with expert chefs and given an hour to create a custom sauce.

The 30-acre property lies along the shoreline of Lake Oconee and features 251 guest rooms, 18,000 square feet of function space and 99 holes of championship golf.
