SPRINGFIELD, Ill.

The President Abraham Lincoln Springfield - a DoubleTree by Hilton has opened in historic downtown Springfield, Ill. Previously an independent hotel, the property unveiled a multi-million dollar transformation that includes contemporary upgrades throughout the lobby and guest rooms. The hotel continues to be owned and managed by Horve Hospitality Management.

The revamp showcases updated decor and amenities throughout the 310 renovated guest rooms and an upgraded lobby featuring a classic stone fireplace and hand-carved Maplewood accents. The adjoining Prairie Capital Convention Center offers more than 40,000 square feet of exhibit and event space and plays host to a variety of events such as tradeshows, concerts and sporting events.

Lindsay's Restaurant, the hotel's all-day dining venue, offers a revamped menu of casual Midwestern fare that includes a popular local comfort food - the open-faced "Horseshoe Sandwich" - which claims its origins in Springfield. The Globe Tavern is an energetic piano bar featuring specialty drinks and a rotating selection of premium draft beer.

Located approximately four miles from the Capital Airport, President Abraham Lincoln Springfield - a DoubleTree by Hilton is convenient to local corporations and attractions including the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library, the Dana Thomas House and the Illinois State Capitol.
