Former Sinatra Resort Closes for Revamp in Tahoe

NORTH LAKE TAHOE

The Cal Neva Resort in North Tahoe formerly owned by Frank Sinatra is slated for a marvelous makeover.

Named for its location smack-dab on the California-Nevada border, the resort has closed for renovations and aims to be back in business by December 2014.

Originally built in 1926 and located on Crystal Point overlooking Lake Tahoe, the property has 199 guest rooms and 16,000 square feet of event space, in addition to a 6,000-square-foot casino. It was purchased by the Napa Valley-based development group Criswell-Radovan this past April.

Upgrades will take place to the main resort building and casino, in addition to five lodging cabins on property that have hosted celebrities that include Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. More information on the property can be found on the Cal Neva Resort website.
