New meeting and group offerings in Oregon

Travel Oregon teamed up with Brand USA, New World Travel, Sonoma County, Visit Seattle and Visit California to develop an itinerary that will have oenophiles packing up their palates and heading west. The Western Wine Trail is a 12-day itinerary that begins in San Francisco, meanders through Northern California, winds through Oregon Wine Country and ends in Seattle.

Portland

The Hilton Portland & Executive Tower recently added 5,500 square feet of new meeting space to the top floor of the property, known as the Skyline Level. The new area, which boasts panoramic views and hosts up to 150 people, brings the hotel’s total meeting space to 45,500 square feet. The hotel will also launch a guest room upgrade in November, with completion slated for February 2014.

In January, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) opened Theory, a restaurant “where food meets science.” The 9,100-square-foot space has views of the Willamette River and hosts 350 reception-style. Theory serves food sourced from small farms within 150 miles of Portland.

The 223-room Pearl District Residence Inn by Marriott is slated to open in early 2014. The property, which is aiming for LEED Silver certification, will feature a restaurant and bar and a landscaped courtyard.

Pineapple Hospitality recently acquired the 140-room Hotel Fifty in downtown Portland and renamed it Hotel Rose. Pineapple intends to make cosmetic renovations in the near future.
