The Houston Pavilions District, near the city’s George R. Brown Convention Center, is undergoing a redesign and renovation. It will debut this year as GreenStreet, with a new linear park filled with green spaces, planters and water features. Big name tenants include House of Blues, McCormick & Schmick’s and Lucky Strike bowling.
Forbes magazine recently predicted that by 2023, Houston will be “the next global city” as development picks up throughout the metro.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2014 on a 1,000-room Marriott Marquis across from the convention center, the Historic District is being revived and the MetroRail is adding almost 23 miles of new lines, connecting the convention center, theater district and other points of interest.
