Small wings are creating a big buzz in Scottsdale, with the opening of Butterfly Wonderland.
The rainforest experience is well-equipped to handle corporate groups and private events, with conference rooms, a 193-seat theater and a 10,000-square-foot conservatory that is available for parties.
Private tours are offered and groups can wander through the largest butterfly pavilion in the country as the colorful creatures flutter about, landing on flowers and shoulders alike.
There are butterflies in every life stage, from caterpillar to pupa to adulthood.
“They emerge from their chrysalis stage right in front of you,” says Courtney Berryman, national sales and service manager with the Scottsdale CVB. In the metamorphosis gallery, visitors can watch vibrant Blue Morpho butterflies spread their wings for the first time.
Butterfly Wonderland is part of the $170 million Salt River entertainment district being developed, with a timeline extending five to eight years in the future.
