Maine

The Boathouse waterfront hotel is now open in Kennebunkport. The boutique property sits on the Kennebunkport River and has 12 guest rooms plus a 200-seat restaurant with panoramic windows.

Massachusetts

Great Wolf Resorts plans to open its first New England property in Fitchburg in 2014. An 84,000-square-foot indoor water park will be the centerpiece of the family-friendly property, combined with meeting spaces and resort activities.

New Jersey

Renovations are complete at the Crowne Plaza Princeton. The former Wyndham property was closed for six months during initial construction. All 284 guest rooms were updated, and a new presidential suite and six additional suites were added. The hotel offers 37,000 square feet of IACC-certified meeting space, including 40 conference rooms and a 360-seat amphitheater.

New York

The historic Lexington New York City completed a $46 million renovation of its public spaces and guest rooms. The Midtown hotel originally opened in 1929 and offers 725 guest rooms and three mezzanine meeting rooms. The property joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection this August.

Pennsylvania

Loews Philadelphia Hotel spent $2 million to create new event spaces totaling 3,000 square feet. With the new small meeting and boardrooms the property now offers more than 48,000 square feet of function space, along with 581 guest rooms. A highlight is the former Pennsylvania Saving Fund Society room on the 33rd floor, with sweeping city views.

Kimpton announced plans to open a Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh, with the conversion of a historic Beaux Arts building into a 247-room hotel with 9,000 square feet of function space. The property is slated to open in 2014 in the city’s Golden Triangle district.

Washington, D.C.

Kimpton’s new Donovan House welcomes business meetings and small groups with 3,000 square feet of function space, including a rooftop lounge and private 50-person dining room. The 193-room hotel is within walking distance of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and three blocks from the White House. Guests can enjoy a nightly hosted evening wine hour.

Trump Hotels unveiled plans for the $200 million restoration of the Trump International Hotel, The Old Post Office on Pennsylvania Avenue. The 270-room hotel will add restaurants and retailers on the ground floor. Meeting space will total more than 39,000 square feet, including a 13,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom and library with 25-foot ceilings and historic detailing. Construction is scheduled to begin next spring.
