Green CSR programs at San Diego's Grand Del Mar

In Southern California, the Grand Del Mar resort offers an array of eco-friendly group programming, the centerpiece of which is Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, filled with creeks, waterfalls and wildlife. Through the resort, groups can partner with the city of San Diego’s Parks and Recreation Department to participate in a unique canyon restoration program for up to 100 people, helping to re-plant native foliage, bushes and shrubs, including California Sage Brush, Coastal Oak, California Buckwheat, Toyon bushes and California Sage Brush, while also clearing out invasive foliage species. Hikes, mountain biking, educational programs with the resort’s on-site naturalist and catering can also be bundled into the experience.

“It’s a nature preserve so there is peace and tranquility with very little outside noise,” says Kenan Simmons, director of sales and marketing for the Grand Del Mar.

Groups can also partner with the Surf Rider Foundation for beach cleanups.

The Grand Del Mar caters to groups looking to host corporate events, board meetings, sales retreats and product launches, and offers 10,000 square feet of indoor function space, including the Tuscany-inspired Elizabeth Capella Chapel.
