Does switching rooms mid-meeting help generate creativity?

In a recent blog, Jonathan Bradshaw, CEO of The Meetology Group—a U.K.-based events consulting firm that uses research to develop new, effective conference concepts—suggested that switching rooms during the course of a meeting could possibly be beneficial in prompting attendees to think outside the box.

Psychological studies indicated that participants may be more open to considering new concepts and leaving behind their preconceived notions on a topic if they physically get up and move to a different room.

“Having two meeting rooms can be useful if you’re trying to introduce something new,” Bradshaw says in the short video post “like new thinking or a new brand.”

Dine-arounds and progressive dinners are already popular, so why not meeting rooms on the move?
