SPRINGFIELD, Va.
The newly opened Embassy Suites Hotel in Springfield, Va., recently celebrated its grand opening with an event benefiting the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir.
Along with executives from McLean, Virginia-based Hilton Worldwide and Embassy Suites Hotels and operator High Velocity Hospitality, local officials and community members gathered to celebrate the newly-built hotel, which opened to the public in August. Located at 8100 Loisdale Road in Springfield, Va., the hotel features the latest Embassy Suites design concept, Design Option III, and includes 219 suites along with more than 6,000 square feet of meeting space capable of accommodating up to 300 people.
The evening event, co-hosted with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, consisted of a ribbon cutting and open house where donations were gathered for the USO Warrior and Family Center. The USO Warrior and Family Center opened in February 2013 and is the first of two planned Warrior and Family Centers that support wounded warriors and their families throughout the rehabilitation process by providing a place for recreation, normalcy, respite and long-term planning. Following the festivities, Embassy Suites Springfield matched all donations received during the grand opening celebration, presenting more than $3,000 to representatives of the center.
The brand's Design Option III concept decreases the amount of land needed and offers flexible features including guest room design, in addition to a contemporary atrium area. These features further enhance the guest experience, adding a great sense of space with increased natural light in guest rooms and public areas like the atrium.
The hotel features all of the signature amenities that can be found at every Embassy Suites hotel, including complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast each morning; a nightly Complimentary Evening Reception; two-room suites with a separate living areas, private bedrooms and a wet bar fitted with a microwave, refrigerator and sink; and 24-hour complimentary fitness and business centers.
