NEW YORK
M&R Hotel Management has announced the opening of the Holiday Inn New York – JFK Airport, a new, 201-room, full-service hotel at the intersection of Brookville and Rockaway boulevards in Jamaica, N.Y., just east of John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The Holiday Inn New York – JFK Airport features the brand's newest prototype design with an arching glass porte cochere and 116 king and 85 double guest rooms designed in a sophisticated color palette with bright accents. A complimentary shuttle provides 24-hour transportation to and from the airport, and an independently managed restaurant offers service throughout the day.
The hotel's in-room Guest Link tool enables guests to access the Internet, connect their laptops to the in-room television and charge their cellphones and tablets. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, providing bandwidth of 35.6 megabytes per second for downloads and 6.17 megabytes for uploads, exceeding industry standards.
The hotel's complimentary, 24-hour fitness facility is equipped with stationary bicycles, treadmills, elliptical machines and free weights. A business center provides access to computers and the Internet. The hotel's 24-hour grab-and-go Corner Market Place enables guests to pick up light meals, snacks, beverages and toiletries. A guest laundry also is available. Staff members are multilingual.
The Landing, the hotel's three-meal-a-day restaurant, is open to guests, travelers passing through the airport and members of the local community. Patrons can enter the restaurant through either the hotel lobby or a separate entrance. The Landing's menu features modern American and Italian classics ranging from burgers and pasta to steak and seafood. Specialties include prime aged porterhouse and veal chop Milanese.
The Holiday Inn New York – JFK Airport also features a flexible, 800-square-foot meeting and event space that can host private parties, receptions and dinners for a range of social functions with The Landing providing the catering. The space also can accommodate functions including executive meetings, sales and planning sessions, and motivational programs.
Nearby retail outlets include Five Towns Shopping Center and Green Acres Mall. Area attractions include Resorts World Casino and Aqueduct Racetrack. Manhattan is reachable by taxi or mass transit, enabling guests to enjoy all the sightseeing and cultural attractions the "Big Apple" has to offer.
The Holiday Inn brand, part of InterContinental Hotels Group, recently completed an extensive, billion-dollar investment that transformed not only guest rooms but the lobby and other public spaces. "Even the Holiday Inn logo underwent a change, emerging as more modern and streamlined," said Brian M. McSherry, M&R Hotel Management chief operating officer.
