Tulsa

  • Hardesty Arts Center recently completed new construction for the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa, including multiuse exhibit spaces, studio spaces for artists, classrooms and a catering kitchen.
  • Guthrie Green recently underwent a multimillion-dollar upgrade, including the addition of gardens, a covered pavilion, stage, canopy, fountain, trellis and cafe.

Oklahoma City

  • The Aloft Oklahoma City Downtown Bricktown is scheduled to open this year with 134 guest rooms and approximately 5,000 square feet of meeting space.
  • Also scheduled to open this year are the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton, which will occupy a single tower in the Bricktown Entertainment District and include 155 and 100 rooms, respectively, with a combined 6,000 square feet of meeting space.
  • A Holiday Inn Express in Bricktown and the Ambassador Hotel in Midtown are also set to open in 2014.
  • A new $253 million convention center is expected to open in 2019 just south of the Myriad Botanical Gardens and across the street from the Chesapeake Energy Arena. The yet-to-be-named convention center will feature 160,000 square feet of exhibit space, a 35,000-square-foot ballroom and 40,000 square feet of additional meeting space.
  • Oklahoma State Fair Park will soon have a new 300,000-square-foot public event building. Scheduled for completion in 2015, the new building will replace the current Travel & Transportation Building on the east side of the park.

Norman

  • The Holiday Inn Express will add 115 additional hotel rooms to Norman’s portfolio when it opens in July 2014. Located in the University North Park area across the street from the Embassy Suites Norman Hotel & Conference Center, the property will bring Norman’s total number of hotel rooms within walking distance of the city’s largest meeting space to approximately 400.
