Larger than life events in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

Complementing its historical venues, the Metroplex also offers an attractive mix of new standards and reinvented classics. In the destination where “big things happen,” the following are group stages for the ages.

Opened in 1978, the 50-story Reunion Tower is a signature of the Dallas skyline. In October, the landmark opened the new GeO-Deck, an enclosed observation level in the tower’s geodesic sphere featuring an interactive digital experience of Dallas history. Above, Cloud Nine is a new casual cafe from Wolfgang Puck that becomes private event space at night, and on the top level, Puck’s acclaimed Five Sixty offers four-star dining and private space with 360-degree vistas via a revolving floor.

The iconic tower stands alongside Hyatt Regency Dallas, which completed a $50 million makeover of all 1,120 guest rooms, along with bathrooms and corridors, last April.

Renamed AT&T Stadium last July, the Dallas Cowboys’ home in Arlington is the $1 billion-plus successor to Irving’s Texas Stadium, which opened in 1971. Supported by two monumental arches, the retractable-roof stadium claims the world’s largest column-free interior, seating 80,000 and expandable to over 105,000 for major events. Along with group tours, the facility flexibly hosts meetings, conferences, trade shows, social gatherings and more.

Accommodating over 190,000 NASCAR fans, Fort Worth’s Texas Motor Speedway is America’s second-largest sports and entertainment facility. This spring, the venue introduces the world’s largest HD video board. Bigger than the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., “Big Hoss TV,” scheduled to be in place by April, will also be 9,000 square feet larger than the mammoth screen at AT&T Stadium.
