ARLINGTON
- With 308 rooms and 11,000 square feet of meeting space, Hilton Arlington is undergoing a $10 million property-wide renovation, scheduled for completion this spring.
DALLAS
- In November 2013, DART’s new D-Link began providing free bus service throughout downtown Dallas and historic Oak Cliff.
- Opened in September at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden is a “museum without walls” featuring 150 interactive exhibits, 16 indoor and outdoor classrooms and the 9,100-square-foot Discovery Center.
- The stylish Joule, Dallas completed a $78 million renovation and expansion that includes 29 new guest rooms and suites, three penthouses, 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a 25-seat screening room and a subterranean spa.
FORT WORTH
- The inaugural Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival opens March 27. The four-day event will feature outstanding local chefs such as Tim Love, Jon Bonnell and Molly McCook.
- A 55,000-square-foot public plaza opened in November in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square entertainment district. Amenities include a permanent stage for concerts and movies, restaurants, retail, fountains, four giant umbrellas and other unique features.
FRISCO
- Hampton Inn & Suites Legacy Park-Frisco will commence a floor-by-floor renovation of all 105 guest rooms this month. The project is scheduled for completion this spring.
IRVING
- Groundbreaking is scheduled for May on a 350-room, upscale headquarters hotel for Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. With the flag soon to be announced, plans for the hotel, slated to open in late 2015, include a sky bridge link to the center, 20,000 square feet of additional meeting room space and a 300-space parking garage.
PLANO
- A 299-room Hilton with 18,000 square feet of meeting space will open in Plano’s Granite Park in mid-2014.
