New and renovated properties in the West (Jan. 2014)

California
A former Sheraton in San Diego was converted to the 264-suite Declan Suites hotel, which is set to begin a multimillion-dollar renovation beginning with a lobby update this spring. The hotel is five minutes from the San Diego Convention Center and features 2,500 square feet of meeting space.

Lake Tahoe welcomed the new 88-room Landing Resort in late 2013. Rooms at the luxury lakefront resort include fireplaces and private decks, and the property's dining outlets and event venues include the newly constructed Jimmy's Restaurant, a 3,600-square-foot rooftop deck and a 150-person ballroom.

Colorado
The Crawford Hotel will debut in Denver's Union Station this summer. The 112-room property is named after local preservationist Dana Crawford. Unique guest rooms reflect different eras in the building's history, from Pullman rooms modeled after the luxurious sleeping railcars to urban-inspired modern loft rooms. Guests will enter through Union Station's grand hall, and the hotel will offer 3,000 square feet of meeting space.

Mexico
The new Hilton Santa Fe Mexico City is scheduled to open early this year, with 260 guest rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space. Six boardrooms and other workspaces will be located on the mezzanine level, and a rooftop level will be available for bookings.

Nevada
MGM Resorts International partnered with global entertainment presenter AEG to develop a huge 20,000-seat Las Vegas arena and entertainment venue near the Strip. Projected to cost approximately $350 million, the development is scheduled to break ground in April 2014 and be completed in 2016.

Saskatchewan
The 235-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Center Regina is now open in the central Canada province. The property offers more than 18,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 400-person ballroom. A recent renovation refreshed all guest rooms.

Utah
The DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport opened following a $5.3 million property-wide transformation. The 288-room hotel updated guest rooms and public spaces before the reflagging. The DoubleTree offers 13,000 square feet of function space, including many rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows.
