CHICAGO
The new, boutique Kinzie Hotel opens next month in Chicago in the city's River North neighborhood on a site currently occupied by the Amalfi Hotel.
Designed by Gettys Design Group Chicago, the property was inspired by John Kinzie, the city's first settler and an explorer in the 1800's. The hotel is filled with historical touches, from vintage 19th century Chicago maps and compasses, to its "Chicago Starts Here" tagline, that encourages guests to explore the city as Kinzie did.
"The hotel incorporates Chicago concepts throughout the design," says Design Director Ben Nicholas. "From intricate vintage map work in the guest rooms, to carpeting which features a modern interpretation of the city grid."
For groups, the Kinzie will offer three meeting and board rooms totaling 1,500 square feet.
