Albany
- The former Dewitt Clinton hotel is undergoing a $48.5 million transformation to become a Renaissance by Marriott. The property is slated to open in January 2015 with 204 guest rooms and a parking garage for 200 vehicles. Distinctive features from the original property will be preserved, including the high-ceilinged lobby, featuring walls decorated with murals depicting events in New York state history.
- Situated across the street from the Renaissance by Marriott property will be the proposed Albany Capital Center, an 82,000-square-foot, two-story convention center also located across the street from the New York State Capitol and connected to the Empire State Plaza Convention Center and Times Union Center Arena. Construction is slated to begin in June and should be completed by mid-2016.
- The Hilton Albany, formerly a Crowne Plaza, reopened in May 2013 after a $14 million renovation that included updates to guest rooms and meeting spaces, a new restaurant and lounge, and a new main entrance and lobby.
- Residence Inn Albany Washington Avenue opened in October with 106 suites and one meeting room.
Saratoga Springs
- Excelsior Springs opened in summer 2013 with a ballroom that accommodates up to 450 guests theater style and 250 for a banquet. The space can also be subdivided into Excelsior East and West for smaller groups. The adjacent Courtyard Saratoga Springs also offers six meeting rooms for a total of 6,000 additional square feet of meeting space, along with an executive-level suite of rooms and a lounge and cafe area.
- Pavilion Grand Hotel is on track to open this spring. Rooftop meeting and event space that’s well-suited for board meetings, special occasion dinners and cocktail receptions will be available.
- The 149-suite Embassy Suites Saratoga Springs is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2014 with 5,000 square feet of meeting space and an on-site restaurant.
