Starwood Hotels announced the opening of the new Sheraton Zurich Hotel, marking the brand's second hotel in the city. Sheraton Zurich fuels the global growth of the Sheraton brand as it remains on track to celebrate the opening of its 500th hotel by 2016.
The Sheraton property offers a vibrant, open atmosphere in the heart of Zurich West, which is set to become the busily evolving business and entertainment district.
Sheraton Zurich offers 197 elegant guest rooms, including 32 suites and more than 6,400 square feet of meeting and event space, including eight multifuntional rooms and pre-function space.
On the ground floor, the Swiss grill restaurant, Route twenty-six, offers a unique dining concept that showcases the best from the 26 Swiss cantons, freshly prepared from the open show kitchen. This includes local specialties such as capuns, a traditional Swiss chard-wrapped dish from Graubünden; züri gschnätzlets, a typical Zurich dish consisting of thinly sliced veal cooked in a cream sauce with mushrooms and served with rösti, fried grated potato cake; and grilled pike perch from Lake Neuchâtel.
Starwood currently operates six hotels in Switzerland under four of its distinct lifestyle brands. This includes the new W Verbier ski retreat, as well as Sheraton Zurich, Sheraton Neues Schloss and Four Points by Sheraton Sihlcity in Zurich. Starwood also operates Sheraton Davos Hotel Waldhuus and Hotel President Wilson, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Geneva.
