New and renovated property highlights in the West (Feb. 2014)

California

The Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel launched a $45 million renovation, led by new General Manager Nathan Litvack. The 485-room hotel will update its guest rooms, restaurant and 26,000 square feet of meeting space. The Sheraton is within walking distance of the Los Angeles Convention Center, Staples Center and LA Live.

Colorado

Denver’s new Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center Hotel is set to open in April, with 230 guest rooms and 5,000 square feet of function space, including a 2,400-square-foot ballroom. The Marriott property is located inside the former Colorado National Bank building, and three original bank vaults will be used as private dining spaces and boardrooms. The lobby will be decorated with historic murals by Colorado artist Alan Tupper True.

Denver’s The Curtis, A DoubleTree by Hilton hotel launched a $5 million guest room and lobby renovation, adding new furniture, artwork and two new suites. The funky pop-culture-themed hotel offers 336 guest rooms and almost 28,000 square feet of function space. The renovation and expansion project is scheduled to be completed this spring.

Montana

Boomerang Hotels opened GuestHouse International Inn, Suites and Conference Center in Kalispell. Located near Glacier National Park, the property has 150 guest rooms and 20,500 square feet of function space, welcoming groups of up to 1,000.

Nevada

After the expected completion by the second quarter of 2014, the 550-foot-tall High Roller Ferris wheel will be the centerpiece of Las Vegas’ new LINQ retail, dining and entertainment district. The $550 million dollar Caesar’s development will sit on the Strip. offering an assortment of restaurants, shops and attractions.

Washington

Outside Seattle, Cedarbrook Lodge broke ground on an $16 million expansion that will add a 3,350-square-foot spa and 63 guest rooms to the property. The property’s largest event space can accommodate up to 300 guests, and for smaller groups there are four parlor spaces with stone fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Construction broke ground on the SpringHill Suites by Marriott at Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. The 75,000-square-foot convention center includes a 2,100-person Great Hall.
