Arizona
CSM Lodging plans to renovate a historic bank building in downtown Phoenix and open a high-end hotel in time for the 2015 Super Bowl. The $40 million restoration will result in 165 guest rooms and 5,000 square feet of function space.
British Columbia
The 100-year-old, 65-room St. Regis Vancouver commemorated its anniversary with an overhaul renovation. Meeting facilities include a 100-person theater.
California
As part of the second phase of a major renovation, the Hilton San Francisco Union Square began a $25 million update of its 575 guest rooms, adding 37additional rooms. Completion is targeted for April 2015. The Hilton can accommodate meetings of up to 3,200 attendees.
The 485-room Irvine Marriott opened the FLOE Lounge, a new venue for meetings, dining and entertainment. The hotel offers 27,000 square feet of meeting space.
Santa Barbara’s The Fess Parker welcomed 2014 with an interior renovation. Founded by the Hollywood actor who played Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone, the 360-room DoubleTree hotel offers 16,000 square feet of ballroom space.
Mexico
Commune Hotels plans to debut a 125-room Thompson Hotel in 2015 in Playa del Carmen, as the anchor of a mixed-use project.
Nevada
The 632-room Downtown Grand Las Vegas completed a multimillion-dollar renovation that added a new meeting space; a chandelier-studded grand parlor that can accommodate up to 200 guests.
Oregon
The Hilton Eugene is undergoing a $5.5 million renovation that will update all 269 guest rooms. The Hilton has more than 30,000 square feet of function space and is close to the University of Oregon and associated sports facilities.
