New hotel, off-site and waterpark renovations in the Midwest (March 2014)

Indiana

Le Meridien Indianapolis is slated to open this November following a $9 million renovation of the former Canterbury Hotel, which was originally constructed in 1858 and rebuilt in 1928. The updated hotel will offer 100 guest rooms, 1,750 square feet of modernized meeting space and an expanded fitness center.

Kansas

Starwood Hotels announced the completion of the $1.5 million renovation Sheraton Overland Park. The 412-room hotel is attached to the Overland Park Convention Center and updated its meeting and public spaces. The hotel offers 21,000 square feet of meeting facilities.

Minnesota

After a brief closure, the 400 Bar is scheduled to reopen in June at a new location inside the Mall of America. The 25,000-square-foot rock club will include a concert hall, a restaurant opening in the fall and the Midwest Music Museum exhibit.

The Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority broke ground on a new $900 million NFL stadium that will replace the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis.

Wisconsin

The popular 600-acre Wisconsin Dells Wilderness Resort added new attractions for the 2014 summer season, including a swim-up bar, a new laser tag arena and a new Klondike dining outlet. The 444-room resort is home to Glacier Canyon Lodge Conference Center, a 25,000-square-foot facility.
