Denver
Denver’s Union Station is undergoing a massive restoration and redevelopment that will transform it into a transportation, dining, shopping and entertainment hub, all centered around the new 112-room Crawford Hotel. The project should be complete in July 2014.
At press time, Denver’s 230-room Marriott Renaissance in the Colorado National Bank Building was scheduled to open next month (April 2014). The hotel will feature banquet and meeting rooms, including one inside the former bank’s vault.
Aspen
The Gant Aspen will complete a $5 million dollar conference center renovation in June 2014 that will include a new cafe, panoramic rooftop bar and deck, and indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
Colorado Springs
Cheyenne Mountain Resort’s Pete Dye-designed 18-hole golf course boasts a recent $3.8 million renovation completed last May.
The Broadmoor’s original “Broadmoor West” building is undergoing a renovation encompassing upgrades to accommodations, food and beverage outlets, lobby and exterior. The project, also including a three-story addition to the building to add 31 guest rooms and suites, is scheduled for completion in May 2014.
Estes Park
Located at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park, the Estes Park Events Complex at the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park is scheduled to open in May 2014 with two new event facilities: the 29,000-square-foot Estes Park Event Center and the 19,000-square-foot pavilion.
Fort Collins
Fort Collins Marriott in May 2013 completed a $6 million renovation project including the update of all guest rooms, lobby and event space.
Grand Junction
The historic Avalon Theatre is undergoing a multimillion-dollar facelift on track for completion this summer. The theater’s new facilities will be used for movies, receptions and other events.
Snowmass
The Westin Snowmass Resort completed a $55 million renovation in December 2012. The 254-room resort, which offers over 24,000 square feet of conference space, has fully renovated all guest rooms and public areas.
