What makes dining at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort special for groups?
At Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort groups can enjoy a memorable combination of cuisine and a beautiful setting, including indoor and outdoor options. Each location—from the beach to the bay—is special. We love exceeding expectations. We take great pride and care to ensure that each group receives the highest level of cuisine and service. That is among the many reasons we have groups returning year after year.
Do you have a favorite dish you like to serve groups?
I have so very many favorites for groups. One is the filet and grouper duo entree. The filet is served with a peppercorn sauce and the grouper is accompanied by a citrus beurre blanc. Another favorite is crab cakes with Creole remoulade. For sides, groups love roasted red pepper risotto, garlic smashed potatoes, oven-roasted tomatoes and steamed asparagus. They also enjoy our bibb salad with tri-colored tomatoes, Stilton cheese, candied pecans and house-made vinaigrette. And of course, a key lime pie tartlet with sweet cream and fresh berry coulis is a favorite to finish.
How would you describe the dining scene in South Walton?
The local dining scene is remarkable for many reasons. First, because of our proximity on the Gulf of Mexico, we have extraordinary access to delicious, fresh fish and seafood. Second, we have a Southern influence at some of our establishments, known for vibrant tastes and wonderful flavors. And third, many of our local restaurants are ahead of the national trends, to meet the needs and tastes of the growing number of celebrities and influential people that visit and live here.
What is your favorite dining spot in the area?
One of my personal favorites is the Marina Bar and Grill at Baytowne Marina. There’s no better place to enjoy the sunset and dine on wonderful, casual cuisine with friends and family. You can even ring the official bell to help celebrate the sunset that day.
