Atlanta
- Aloft Hotel will open this month after a $25 million remodel of the former Days Inn Atlanta Downtown. The property features 242 rooms and 2,000 square feet of meeting space.
- The National Center for Civil and Human Rights will open downtown at the end of May adjacent to the World of Coca-Cola and Georgia Aquarium. The 42,000-square-foot facility will feature three exhibit areas, a retail space, three event spaces, a broadcast studio and a small cafe.
- The College Football Hall of Fame will open Labor Day Weekend near Centennial Olympic Park. The attraction will feature 25,000 square feet of customizable event space and more than 30,000 square feet of exhibit space, including a 45-yard football field.
- The Delta Flight Museum will reopen this summer after a major renovation. The museum will feature a 110-seat theater, full-service conference center and space for a 1,200-person seated dinner beneath the wings of a Boeing 767.
- The Westin Peachtree Plaza completed a $45 million renovation in August 2013, including redesigned guest rooms and hallways.
Athens
- With the opening of the Classic Center expansion in February 2013, Athens now hosts groups of more than 6,000 people. The 351,000-square-foot facility’s newest spaces include a 56,000-square-foot grand hall and an 8,560-square-foot atrium. A new 188-room Hyatt Place will open in 2015 and be connected to the Classic Center.
Savannah
- The Brice, a Kimpton Hotel, is on track to open next month with 145 guest rooms, 25 suites and 8,700 square feet of meeting space.
- The Embassy Suites Historic District opened in January.
- The Cotton Sail Hotel, a full-service boutique hotel on the riverfront, opened in March.
- A Homewood Suites with 162 suites on the river is set to open in Spring 2015.
Macon-Bibb County
- Hilton Garden Inn Macon completed a renovation in February. The project included upgrades to guest rooms and meeting space.
Augusta
- The Holiday Inn Express Augusta East will open this month near the Augusta Convention Center.
