Green Bay, Wis.
- The KI Convention Center has a $23 million expansion in progress. Scheduled for completion in June 2015, the project will add approximately 30,700 square feet of new meeting space, including a 24,500-square-foot ballroom and three meeting rooms totaling 5,330 square feet. The addition will bring the facility’s total square footage to nearly 80,000, enough to host groups of up to 3,000.
King of Prussia, Pa.
- The Valley Forge Casino Resort is in the midst of a $1 million renovation and technology upgrade of its convention center, set for completion by June. The project includes new audiovisual systems, HD video displays, electronic room partitions and programmable lighting and climate control systems. The meeting space is also being refurbished and redesigned.
New York City
- The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center recently completed a renovation and expansion that included a new glass facade, new security and lighting systems and the installation of the largest green roof in the Northeast.
San Antonio
- The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center is undergoing a $325 million expansion, increasing contiguous exhibit space to over 510,000 square feet. The expansion will also include a new 54,000-square-foot ballroom, the largest in Texas. The center will remain open throughout construction. Once new construction is completed in 2016, the west side of the facility will be demolished for the 12-acre redevelopment of an adjacent park.
San Diego
- The California Coastal Commission granted approval for a $520 million expansion of the San Diego Convention Center, expected to break ground late this year. The project will add 220,000 square feet of exhibit space, 101,500 square feet of meeting space, an 80,000-square-foot ballroom and a five-acre rooftop public park with views of the city and bay.
