LAUSANNE, Switzerland
The SwissTech Convention Center, which opened this month, is entirely modular and was designed with collaboration and flexibility in mind. The 16,000-square-foot main floor can be quickly transformed from a 3,000-seat amphitheater into individual banquet rooms.
Digital smart screens throughout the center adapt to feature location-based information and the building was designed for low energy usage, with a wall covered with photovoltaic solar collectors to harness the sun’s energy.
The center is located amidst the natural wonders of Switzerland’s Lake Geneva region, which include the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and the grand Lake Geneva
There are more than 3,000 hotel rooms in the immediate vicinity, and a new 500-bed hotel is expected to open adjacent to the center in 2015.
