Groups can now design events around the stylish concept of Airstream trailers, which have long been synonymous with wanderlust and leisurely American travel. Founded by RV industry veteran Dicky Reigel, Airstream 2 Go has a fleet of 22 modern Airstreams and 20 tow vehicles.
The company launched rental operations in June 2013, with locations in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and seasonally in Bozeman, Mont.
The trailers function as a “private oasis” for travelers and come loaded with luxurious linens, maps on iPads, stereo systems and other high-end touches. Meeting groups can utilize them for retreats, and the trailers have been used as mobile retail showrooms, styling salons, executive boardrooms and “hotels on wheels” for corporate and commercial clients.
Reigel worked on the manufacturing side of the Airstream industry for more than 16 years and was often asked by people how they could rent the iconic trailers. However, besides random Internet searches and dealing with private owners, there was no system in place.
Airstream 2 Go fills that gap by allowing planners and travelers to rent the trailers, several at a time or individually. Each Airstream can sleep up to six people, and rental costs include a GMC Yukon Denali truck—another quintessential American brand.
The tow vehicles can also be used for day trips and sightseeing excursions.
Catering is typically organized separately, with some organizations arranging food delivered or setting up tents on-site.
