Hip Hood - Downtown Las Vegas

More Coverage

Energized by the funding, vision and leadership of the Downtown Project, the original Las Vegas continues to go from blight to blossom as a vibrant new cultural destination for groups.

1 - La Comida
Mix engaging visuals—pink neon monkey, side alley entrance and evocatively furnished former laundromat space—with “more tequilas than seats” and tantalizing Mexican fare, and you have the event-capable La Comida. Hotel Interactive editor-in-chief Glenn Haussman, a 15-year veteran of the Las Vegas meetings scene, raves thus: “La Comida is well situated as a great event hotspot with delicious food, well-conceived décor and a location at the crossroads of an exciting new downtown Las Vegas.”

2 - Downtown Container Park
An innovative new space featuring 38 shipping containers retrofitted for shopping, dining and play experiences, Downtown Container Park opened in December 2013. The 1.1-acre open-air venue features a stage for live daytime and evening performances—and check out that fire-breathing praying mantis!

3 - Bier Garten
Located across from the Fremont Street Experience in front of the Plaza Hotel & Casino, the new Bier Garten features nearly 3,000 square feet of real grass, tables from Munich, vine-threaded wooden trellises and a living wall to create an authentic Bavarian beer garden experience. Opened in April 2014, the venue offers indoor and outdoor space for private functions.

4 - Neon Museum
Long synonymous with Las Vegas razzle-dazzle, the city’s neon heritage is celebrated at the Neon Museum. Nighttime tours are a must, along with special events and weddings at the museum and its mesmerizing Boneyard.

5 - Gold Spike Hotel & Casino
At the Gold Spike Hotel & Casino, groups can utilize The Living Room (accommodating 350 people) or The Backyard patio (hosting 630 guests) for private events. Catering is available, along with games such as giant versions of Connect Four and Jenga.
