Omni Hotels apps aim to assist planners

Omni Hotels recently launched its OmniLink app, free to all planners booking events at any of Omni’s 43 properties throughout North America.

Tom Santora, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of Omni Hotels, explains that OmniLink offers the same standard array of features that planners would typically pay an external technology provider for, when hosting a huge citywide event, for example: agendas, social media connections, messaging and networking capabilities.

Attendees can download OmniLink through a link or QR code when they register, and an event essentially becomes paperless, with schedules, maps, videos and downloads all available online.

A second Omni app, iMeetingPlanner, launched a year ago at the brand’s conference-focused properties and is designed to “eliminate the binder”, as Santona puts it, by placing all the information planners need in the palm of their hand, even letting them request a temperature change in a specific meeting room or note an AV problem through the app.

In general, across the Omni portfolio, Santora reports that groups from all meeting segments and sizes have been booking further out, since they are more confident the meetings will happen, keeping the hotels busy.
