Cincinnati
- At press time, the 312-room Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown, situated four blocks from the Duke Energy Convention Center, was on track to open in June with silver LEED status and more than 14,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Hyatt Regency Cincinnati completed $23 million in renovations to its lobby and 491 guest rooms in September 2013.
- The 561-room Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza completed a $10 million renovation in 2013, including new wireless Internet systems, new furniture, new safes and new window treatments, among other updates.
- In January 2013, construction began on the historic Cincinnati Enquirer Building for two new Hiltons. A 105-unit, extended-stay Homewood Suites will occupy five floors, with a 144-room, limited-service Hampton Inn & Suites occupying the remaining four floors. The $29 million renovation is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014.
Columbus
- Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph will open in the Short North Arts District in January 2015 with 135 rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, two spa suites and 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Warren County
- Miami Valley Gaming opened in December 2013 with 1,600 gaming machines, four restaurants and a harness-racing track that accommodates nearly 1,000 people.
Dayton
- The new Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway is scheduled to open this fall.
- A new three-story authentic 19th century brewery, interpretive center and beer garden is scheduled to open in August at the 65-acre Dayton History Carillon Historical Park campus, adding to the existing 30 historic buildings.
- The $33.5 million Water Street Development, a mixed-use retail, restaurant and office space project, and the $4 million RiverScape River Run project, which will include white-water passages for kayaks and canoes, are both expected to be up and running in 2015 in downtown Dayton.
