The21c Museum Hotel Durhamis under construction and set to open early next year in the historic Hill Building. The 125-room boutique property will feature a ballroom, a contemporary art museum with rotating exhibits, a chef-driven restaurant, spa services and a fitness center.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriottopened on Leonardo Drive, about 10 minutes from downtown and 11 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The property offers 98 guest rooms with separate living, working and sleeping areas, plus a fitness center, an indoor pool, meeting space accommodating up to 112 people, a full-service bar and complimentary breakfast.
TheAloft Durham Downtownis under construction in the American Historic Tobacco District next to the Durham Performing Arts Center and Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Expected to open in May 2015, the 134-room hotel will offer 2,200 square feet of meeting space, the brand’s signature WXYZ Bar, a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor pool.
Raleigh
TheAloft Raleighis slated to open in mid-2015 across from North Carolina State University’s iconic bell tower. The hotel, which will feature a 55-foot sculpture by local artist Thomas Sayre, will have 139 loft-like guest rooms, a WXYZ Bar, an outdoor pool, two retail storefronts and more than 1,000 square feet of meeting space.
TheHyatt House Raleigh North Hillsopened last year near the North Carolina Museum of Art and PNC Arena. The hotel offers 137 guest rooms, including suites with fully equipped kitchens, plus an indoor pool, a workout room and 1,700 square feet of meeting space.
