Attendees find creature connections at Miraval

Wyatt Webb, director of equine programs at Miraval Resort in Tucson, has been an animal therapist for more than 30 years.

He leads corporate programs that offer insight into people’s personalities and can identify behavioral patterns that may have gone unnoticed.

“We help people build more authentic relationships,” he says of the property’s equine therapy program. “I’ve worked with everyone from Fortune 500 executives to professional sports teams.

“It’s not about the horse, it’s about you,” he adds. “How we interact with animals reveals how we treat people.”

Groups can book a few hours or a few days, and while the ideal group size is about 15 people, Webb has led much larger programs.

“The goal is that after the program people feel more free to be themselves. In our culture everyone is their own worst critic,” he says. “Most organizational structures are disingenuous, but caring for a horse requires authenticity.”
