Major meeting news in Central Florida

The 444-room Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort debuted Aug. 3 with more than 37,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a Tom Fazio-designed golf course, a full-service spa and recreation center, three pools, a lazy river and a sports facility that includes a rock wall.

The Rosen Centre added a new 18,000-square-foot executive ballroom to its already copious meeting space, which includes 33 meeting rooms and a 35,000-square-foot grand ballroom. The 1,334-room hotel is connected to the Orange County Convention Center via the Rosen Centre Skywalk.

Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center is in the midst of a five-year, $187 million renovation project, begun in 2013, that will refurbish several meeting rooms and convert a current hall into a 50,000-square-foot ballroom with four boardrooms, among other improvements.

Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando is undergoing the largest meeting space expansion in the destination’s history, going from 85,000 square feet to more than 140,000 square feet on one level. The new space will feature a nearly 36,000-square-foot ballroom, divisible by 12. The project is slated for completion in fall 2015.

The Radisson Resort Orlando-Celebration recently completed a $10 million transformation of its guest rooms and 6,800 square feet of meeting and event space.

South of Lakeland and newly opened in January, Streamsong Resort offers 216 Lodge and 12 Clubhouse accommodations, along with two golf courses, two restaurants, a grotto-style spa and 24,600 square feet of meeting space that includes a 14,000-square-foot main conference center. In addition, the resort provides 40,000 square feet of outdoor event space.
