Texas draws delegates from around the globe

More Coverage

When Texas sings, the world listens. As Tom Kreason, curator of the Texas Musicians Museum, stated in an interview relating to the venue’s upcoming relocation from Waxahachie to downtown Irving, “The love for Texas music is not just here, it’s felt all over the world—we’ve had visitors from Russia, Bali and Spain.”

Sports also get the word out. China, for example, is very familiar with Houston thanks to former seven-foot, six-inch Rockets basketball star Yao Ming.

“Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the nation, giving breath to one of the most vivid cultural scenes in the country,” says John Solis, vice president of convention sales for the Greater Houston CVB.

As the most recent visitor statistics from Texas Tourism reveal, the allure of Texas reaches far and wide, with 20 percent of visitors coming for business.
