Starwood Hotels announced plans to rebrand an existing hotel as the Sheraton Samui Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand's second largest island after Phuket.
Starwood reached an agreement with TCC Hotels Group, and will convert the existing 141-room Imperial Samui Beach Resort to a Sheraton, anticipated to take place by December 2014.
The Sheraton Samui Resort property is approximately a 15-minute drive from the Koh Samui International Airport, which offers frequent departtures from Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong. The resort will feature both fresh water and salt water pools in addition to a spa and multiple dining venues.
The property is located on Chaweng Noi Beach, and the nearby town of Chaweng offers shopping and entertainment.
