Massachusetts
The 400-room Royal Sonesta Boston completed a renovation, redesigning 200 guest rooms, updating the lobby and adding new event space. The lobby now includes a coffee shop and cocktail lounge, and a 3,000-square-foot terrace overlooking the Charles River is a new venue option for planners. The reinvigorated space can accommodate up to 250 guests. The Royal Sonesta offers 26,000 square feet of meeting space.
New Jersey
The former Wayne Fairbridge Suites was reflagged as the Ramada Wayne Fairfield Area by Marshall Hotels. Exterior enhancements and room upgrades were part of the conversion. The new Ramada is less than 30 minutes from Manhattan and offers a 40-person conference room.
Ottawa, Ontario
The former Ottawa Convention Centre entered a 10-year naming rights agreement with Shaw Communications and will now be known as the Shaw Centre. The facility offers more than 192,000 square feet of function space, including a 19,000-square-foot ballroom and a 6,260-person multiuse hall.
Pennsylvania
Renovations are complete at the 331-room DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia Airport. The property recently joined the DoubleTree brand and is located adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport, three miles from downtown Philadelphia. The $3 million upgrade included the lobby, guest rooms and function spaces. The hotel offers 12,000 square feet of meeting space.
