'Y' Visit Sacramento?

There are plenty of Millennial magnets in and around Sacramento. We checked in with Lucy Steffens, director of travel media and film commissioner of the Sacramento CVB, who suggested the following options.

LODGING
The Citizen Hotel is a Joie de Vivre property showing off handsome design details, stylish event spaces and a highly creative restaurant emphasizing fresh and organic local ingredients. It boasts nearly 200 guest rooms and about 10,000 square feet of function space, including a rooftop terrace.

The Westin Sacramento is a hip and elegant boutique hotel showcasing 101 recently revamped guest rooms along the Sacramento River. It offers a snazzy seafood eatery as well, plus numerous event spaces and some cool amenities, such as a partnership with New Balance that loans guests workout gear and apparel.

DINING
Ella awaits attendees just a block from the California State Capitol and features some Gen Y faves, such as small plates and cool craft cocktails. An open kitchen, outdoor patio and lively lounge area add to the youthful ambience.

Grange Restaurant & Bar, located in the Citizen Hotel, presents fare that is both elegant and creative but with a casual touch, including small plates like beer-steamed Pacific mussels. Groups of up to 20 can utilize the private dining area, which offers privacy and overlooks the main dining room below.

Hook and Ladder offers an industrial-chic setting named for the former firefighting brigade that once resided in their home base, with delicious locavore fare enhanced by some of the coolest craft cocktails this side of the Mississippi.

Mulvaney’s is another hot dining spot that also happens to be hosted in a former firehouse, and its lures include not only the eclectic fare but a handsome banquet hall topped by redwood ceilings.

DIVERSION
The Sac Brew Bike is a cool contraption sure to please Millennial attendees. The 15-seat “bar-themed” bike allows groups to pedal their way around the city to all the great pubs, and you don’t even need a designated driver.
