The challenge: Simulate a pirate shipwreck on the beach for a corporate event that would spur social media engagement and leave lasting memories.
In Florida, the Marco Island Marriott built a pirate ship backdrop on the beach. The structure was about 25 feet long and used as a visual prop for a major evening meal event by Bunzl, a multinational distribution and outsourcing company based in London.
In Mexico, the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort built a faux pirate ship on the beach with event space between the bow and the stern. Created for a software company, the ship evoked a world of Baja California pirates with display arrangements and themed food and drink for the farewell dinner and rewards program.
