From T-shirts and other reasonably priced mementos to high-end boots and other gifts north of $100, shopping in Music City will hit all the right notes for attendees with either a little or a lot of money to spare.
White's Mercantile, according to Kay Witt, chief sales officer for the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp., is located in a former gas station and operated by Holly Williams, granddaughter of Hank Williams. The shop is a sort of general store for discerning tastes, featuring everything from kitchen staples such as cutting boards, to cashmere sweaters and scarfs, coffee table books and regional edible gifts.
Nashville’s Music City Marketplace, located within the Nashville Visitor Center in the glass tower of Bridgestone Arena, displays gifts with a musical flair, as creations from local artists line the walls and are displayed in vintage instrument cases. While Witt notes the marketplace has one of the greatest vantage points in the city for people-watching, as it’s in the heart of downtown Nashville, it’s also one of the best places to look for souvenirs. T-shirts, guitar picks, Nashville-labeled baseball caps, coffee mugs, coasters and local jams and cocktail mixes are all among the items visitors will find here.
Two Old Hippies is another store that Witt says shows off Nashville’s music, as it’s lined with collections of rock ’n’ roll memorabilia. There is also a lineup of acoustic guitars for sale here, and the store is otherwise filled with unique apparel collections, accessories such as socks, jewelry and candles, and fun gift items.
At Lucchese Boots, located in the Gulch, visitors can shop for high-end, hand-crafted cowboy boots and riding boots, as well as handbags, clutches and leather care products.
