Alaska
A new TownePlace Suites opened in Anchorage. The 114-suite property is Marriott’s first LEED-certified property in the state, and located five miles from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and offering a complimentary airport shuttle.

Arizona
The iconic Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, near Phoenix and Scottsdale, completed a major renovation, updating public spaces while retaining its original Frank Lloyd Wright style. Fifteen pool cabanas were added, guest room furnishings were modernized and the resort debuted a revamped website and published a comprehensive history book of the property. The Biltmore offers more than 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space. Both major ballrooms received technical upgrades in 2014 as well.

California
Hotel Maya in Long Beach debuted the new Lagunita waterfront event space. The 6,400-square-foot pavilion was inspired by ancient Mayan temples and offers views of the Pacific Ocean and Long Beach skyline. The space accommodates 600 guests for standing receptions or seats 350 classroom-style. Adjoining Lagunita, the 10,000-square-foot Vista del Mar prefunction space is lined by palm trees and can accommodate a VIP entranceway. The DoubleTree by Hilton property is convenient to the Long Beach Convention Center and offers 197 guest rooms.

Marriott signed an agreement to develop a new EDITION Hotel in West Hollywood. Slated to open in 2018, the flagship luxury hotel will be the first EDITION property on the West Coast.

La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, debuted a property-wide restoration. The historic hotel, which opened in 1926, now offers upgraded casitas, villas and suites, as well as a new pool experience and enhanced landscaping. Set on 45 acres in the Southern California desert about 25 miles from Palm Springs, La Quinta can accommodate groups as large as 1,400 people with more than 190,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space.

Oregon
Pronghorn, an Auberge Resort in Bend, debuted its new Event Island function space. The 6,100-square-foot island is located on a lake on the resort’s Tom Fazio golf course, accessible by passing over an arched stone bridge. The island can accommodate up to 300 guests and boasts views of the Cascade Mountain Range. Accommodations include rental homes and the soon-to-open Lodge at Pronghorn.
