The Alliant Energy Center, a complex featuring four versatile venues for conventions, meetings and trade shows, recently opened the Holland Pavilions, one with 90,000 square feet of flexible function space and the other with 200,000 square feet of flexible function space.
Major changes to the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in 2014 included adding a museum gallery that showcases the 60-year history of the building; adding plug-and-play workstations at former pay phone areas; enhancing the artwork with photography of iconic sites and spaces in and around the Madison area; and replacing the 200,000 square feet of carpet throughout the building.
Edgewater Hotel reopened in October after a $100 million renovation project.
Concourse Hotel was on track at press time to unveil upgrades to its first floor lobby and restaurant, plus the opening of a new Starbucks in its lobby.
In January, the former Campus Inn Madison began a complete renovation and is scheduled to reopen as Graduate Madison in April.
Best Western Inntowner recently completed a $7 million renovation of its 176 guest rooms and public spaces.
At press time, the Best Western Plus Inn on the Park, which has 15 meeting rooms, including the Wisconsin Ballroom for up to 600 people, was scheduled to embark on a $10 million renovation.
