Catering to renewed interest from corporate incentive groups and hoping to attract millennials to the races, the New York Racing Association has been working on various capital improvements to the Saratoga Race Course to create unique new luxury experiences and hospitality venues.
Replacing the previous tent and luxury suites on the Clubhouse turn, the new three-story At the Rail building will house a 500-person reception space on the ground level, 12 hospitality suites on the second level and additional party suites on the third floor, accommodating 20 to 50 guests.
Much of the project funding came from the installation of 4,500 electronic gaming terminals at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, N.Y.
The Saratoga Race Course has been welcoming visitors to Saratoga Springs for more than 150 years, hosting crowds of 75,000 people during the summer months of thoroughbred racing.
The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame chronicles the history of the sport and offers group rentals for meetings, seminars and lunches. There is even a racing horse simulator that offers guests a taste of jockeys’ experience on the track.
