After 18 months of construction, the Boston Marriott Burlington completed its multimillion-dollar renovation project, which updated function rooms and fitness and pool facilities. The hotel now features the Marriott Greatroom lobby concept, with a large fireplace, community table and U-shaped bar. Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa launched a $13 million renovation that will update the casino floor, hotel suites, Spa Toccare and the front desk area. The Borgata previously completed a $50 million redesign of all 1,566 guest rooms in 2012 and will spend an additional $6 million updating the 39 Opus suites and two 5,000-square-foot Residence suites this year. The historic New York Knickerbocker is slated to reopen this month. The 330-room property originally opened in 1906 and overlooks Times Square, offering group venues that include Charlie Palmer at the Knick, a full-service restaurant, and the St. Cloud rooftop bar. A new 189-room DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry is now open, following a multimillion-dollar rebranding effort and renovation that updated guest rooms and added a new dining concept. The DoubleTree offers 23,000 square feet of meeting space, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property. A multimillion-dollar renovation of public spaces at the Omni Providence is now complete. The lobby, meeting spaces, indoor pool and coffee shop were all touched by the update, which brought in new furniture and local artwork, including a unique tile mosaic depicting a historic photograph of the city. Washington, D.C.
The Watergate Hotel is scheduled to open this summer following a $125 million renovation. Located in the Georgetown neighborhood near the Potomac River, the hotel will offer 343 guest rooms, most of which have river views. The new design embraces the hotel’s infamous past while adding new amenities.
