PITTSBURGH, Penn.
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants debuted its first property in The Steel City. The new Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is the city's first upper-upscale boutique hotel, located at the corner of 6th Avenue and William Penn Place.
Boasting a unique design combined with the brand's standard amenities, the Hotel Monaco will welcome meeting attendees, guests and local passerby alike.
Construction refurbished Pittsburgh's landmark Beaux Arts-style James H. Reed Building, originally built in 1903, into a nine-story, 248-guestroom hotel with more than 11,000-square-feet of meeting space. The hotel is Kimpton's 11th Hotel Monaco and the company's 13th adaptive reuse project.
The hotel will offer event spaces for social gatherings, weddings and corporate meetings. Six event spaces include the Sheffield and Sofia Ballrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, plus other meeting rooms named after Pittsburgh notables - Clemente, Salk, Carson, and Fahlman.
