Vegas shows off its night moves

Vegas means business on multiple fronts, including its renown as one of the world’s hottest nightlife destinations, along with day parties for more fun in the sun. Whether looking to chill out, hit the dance floor or rock the night away, groups have numerous bar, lounge and club options, including the following choice venues.

Hakkasan Las Vegas at MGM Grand is an undisputed titan of the global club universe. Covering 80,000 square feet, this restaurant-nightclub hybrid combines the culinary artistry of Michelin–star chef Ho Chee Boon with unrivaled dance energy from resident DJs like Dutch superstar DJ Tiesto. Offering four distinct nightlife experiences on five levels, the venue flexibly accommodates private gatherings from 75 to a whopping 3,900 people.

This past New Year’s Eve, XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas debuted a $10 million refresh that includes a massive DJ booth surrounded by 14,000 LED lights, and new pyrotechnic and laser systems.

Two popular off-Strip options, especially for Millennial revelers, are swank Ghostbar (www.palms.com) on the 55th floor of Palms Casino Resort and the indoor-outdoor VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub on the 50th and 51st floors of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The former features an open-air deck offering amazing 180-degree views of the city, while the latter, accessed via a glass elevator on the outside of the tower, includes outdoor bar and restaurant.

Another high-altitude option is mix Lounge on the 64th floor of Delano Las Vegas. Innovative cocktails, seductive DJ music and breathtaking views make this fashionable venue a ready draw for dancing and private events. Also here is Michelin-starred miX Restaurant from French master Alain Ducasse, who has announced plans to create a new Mediterranean concept at the venue later this year.

Less vertiginous but still up there is Drai’s. Located on the 11th story rooftop of the new Cromwell boutique hotel at the famed Four Corners intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, this pulsating 65,000-square-foot venue incorporates three distinct experiences: Drai’s Beach Club, Drai’s Nightclub and Drai’s After-Hours. All are available for private rental, individually or in combination.

An offshoot of the New York original and also in London, Brooklyn Bowl is a versatile 80,000-square-foot nightlife venue in the heart of the LINQ entertainment district. Features include 32 lanes of bowling, gourmet dining and live music. The entire space can rented for events of up to 3,500 people.

With spaces including the relaxing indoor Living Room and spacious outdoor Backyard, Gold Spike is a versatile downtown option for groups featuring dining, drinking, live music and an oversized version of shuffleboard and other games.
