Maui
The Four Seasons Maui at Wailea completed a renovation of its two top three-bedroom suites, the Maile and the new Lokelani presidential suite. Both of the ocean-view suites are available for small group functions, which can include the services of a private chef who prepares a customized dinner in the suite.

The Kaanapali Beach Hotel unveiled several property enhancements, including a new food outlet offering light refreshments, a renovation of the Tiki Courtyard, solar roof panels and electric charging stations.

The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui opened Ama Bar & Grille, a poolside restaurant featuring modern Hawaii fare. The hotel also unveiled the Willow Stream Spa, a 9,000-square-foot spa that opened following an $8 million renovation of its other spa facilities.

The Makena Beach & Golf Resort introduced a new cultural activity that enables guests to learn about the ancient Hawaiian approach to fishing. Captain Jon Jon, a local fisherman with over 35 years of experiences, hosts a weekly class about both ancient and modern fishing techniques as well as the legends behind local varieties of fish.

New daily nonstop service on Hawaiian Airlines between San Francisco International Airport and Kahului Airport was inaugurated in December, adding more than 210,000 seats to both travel markets per year.

Mokulele Airlines expanded its service between Kamuela-Waimea on Hawaii Island and Kahului, Maui, by adding a third daily roundtrip flight, bringing the total to 42 flights per week. The airline also added a third daily roundtrip flight between Kahului and Hana.

Lanai
Four Seasons Resorts plans to close both its resorts on Lanai for major renovations this year. The Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay is scheduled to close in June, while the Four Seasons Resort, The Lodge at Koele is expected to close several months earlier to house construction workers. Completion dates for the renovations have not yet been announced.
