The Renwick is slated to open this summer just steps away from Grand Central Station in New York. The hotel will be housed in a building that dates to 1928 and was once an extended-stay property for artists and literary figures such as John Steinbeck, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Mann. The Renwick will pay tribute to these former guests with a creative, engaging aesthetic, including 173 loft-style guest rooms and suites with distinctive and quirky decor dedicated to them and furnishings such as easel-inspired TV stands, as well as “functional art” from local New York artists, including paint-splattered footstools and ceramic sculptures. The property will also include a fitness facility and a restaurant.
