Delish! On the Eaten Path

Connecticut’s culinary connections extend to a number of F&B-themed trails and festivals.

The former includes the 25-member Connecticut Wine Trail; multiple breweries, brew pubs and bars of the CT Beer Trail, which promotes tours and events such as group “Bikes and Beers” rides; Central Connecticut’s Burgers & Brews Trail; and Connecticut Chocolate Trail.

Popular annual festivals start in January with Sun Winefest at Mohegan Sun, featuring beer, wine and spirits tastings, dishes from top-rated restaurants and celebrity chef demonstrations. Each May, Windsor celebrates the official state fish at the Shad Derby Festival.

In Norwalk, the long-running post-Labor Day Oyster Festival is followed in October by Chowdafest. This New England staple is also celebrated each Columbus Day weekend at Mystic Seaport’s Chowder Days. This October, Southington will hold the 47th edition of its Apple Harvest Festival.
